paragraph , In truth Nat is a very pretty girl quite unlike any other. Many have their own opinions on how she looks what with the bright red hair or not so sweet clothing choices. She really doesn't care what they think and never has. It's just matters that it's what she likes and if everyone else likes it then that's a good thing to. After all, if people didn't like how she looked how do you think she got where she is today. It sure wasn't by going around and looking at everyone else around her, it was because of her talent and that she stood out in a crowd.
Natalia might have been born with dark brown almost black hair like almost everyone in her family but when she was nineteen she dyed it red. The old color got a little boring and ever since then she has stuck with her brand new look. Usually her hair is just straightened and she's good to go but every now and then she'll just wear it down naturally or curl it or do something different with it. She highly believes in variety so she shows it in the way she looks with her choice of style and color and she hardly cares what everyone else thinks about it. Her eyes are a medium brown color but can look either lighter or darker than what they really are and that’s actually a unique quality to have for Nat, again it’s just something that helps to set her apart from the rest and she just thinks it’s cool, always has.
Her clothing choice? Well let’s just say that she is a complete individual when it comes to dressing half of the time. The good thing about her style is that it never stays the same for extended periods of time; she is always messing around with another look or two. One month she could be interested in wearing short skirts, crop tops and boots then the next you see her in a t-shirt, some jeans and heels or a nice pair of sensible shoes. It just goes to show how flexible this girl really can be. And another plus to it is that she doesn’t care if it’s designer or not, though the boots or heels have got to be designer but that’s only because that was how her Mom raised her to be. Since she was little it was all she had but now her need for them is more of an obsession than anything and it gets really annoying, still she likes what she likes and what she likes then she gets.
Her body, she’s actually very skinny compared to most but in a healthier looking way than what it used to be. No longer is she almost sickly looking but now she looks like she’s grown up a bit. A thin frame goes great and sort of sets off her look. This is mostly because it’s what is to be expected of her and people just got used to it. Now she’s not too skinny but she hasn’t quite reached average size quite yet but she’s trying. She has gotten so tired of people asking her if she is anorexic or something, and is now willing to try and do something that can stop those stupid questions. She wishes that just because someone looks a certain way means that they don’t eat or something when that’s not too. Besides the stupidity that often comes her way Nat is just flat out happy with the way she looks and takes a lot of pride in that.

[/b][/i][/center]history , Born to Ricardo and Mi Alana Rivera as Natalia Christine Rivera. Nat is a Miami native of Mexican and Dominican descent. The youngest out of two girls but the second out of three others, Natalia has always been used to having others surrounding her. Sometimes she needs some of her own space but when she was a little girl, it wasn't unusual to see her surrounded by groups and groups of people. This girl knows her way around Miami, having grown up there and everything, that sort of just happens. At three she started to sing, and by the time she was five her life's dream had been decided. Nat found that she wanted to be a singer, a big one some day. When she started to show even more signs her parents got her into vocal lessons and even got her taking guitar by the time she was seven.
When she was eight years old Nat met the girl she called her ultimate best friend. Her name was Christina but Natalia simply called her 'Chrissy' therefore earning the nickname 'Lia' instead of just 'Nat'. The two of them had been in the same class when they met, the teach had them at the same table. It was an on and off friendship in the beginning but always worked out in the end. Bit odd the way they turned out though. Still, no one could have been any closer. Even if it was as if they had come from two totally different worlds apart from each other. A friendship that was obviously supposed to last. Grade 6 was when she had her first boyfriend. At first she wasn't so sure about him but he was completley sweet to her. But all the while she tried to maintain her friendships too.
The end of grade 6 brought the end of her relationship too. And for some reason it didn't bother her at all. In fact it was a huge relief. From seventh and eighth grade boyfriends came and went, just as they always do. But during ninth grade her dating life had to be put to and end for a while. She was diagnosed with some form of Chronic Leukemia. That scared her, and she had to be home schooled instead of being in a regular high school. In the middle of her sophomore year she came back to school, with hardly anyone knowing where she was for a year and a half. Natalia had wanted it kept quiet for a reason, and only those few people that she told knew anything about it.
About a year and a half ago, her older sister Alamea got married to the man of her dreams. Even if she is only three years older than her, a marriage was in order and went through. Since that day Natalia had been waiting for the man of her dreams to come around. All she could do was to hope and pray that it would be soon. Nat has always been a big sucker for love, that will and always has been her biggest dream. Well next to becoming a singer.

Since she was a girl Natalia has always been a bit of a wild one. Normally she's practically bouncing off the walls, usually at home or when out of a class room. Nat just loves to have a good time and will find just about any way to do that. Nat gets on her mom's and sisters nerves, because truthfully she can be very annoying once you get her started. All that can be said in her defense is that she knows how to have a good time. Natalia doesn't do anything completely stupid, like illegal stupid, just stupid. Her whole life is ahead of her and she would never do anything to jeopordize that, no matter how crazy.
Despite her crazier side, Natalia is a true sweetheart. Not like the good girl, I do nothing wrong, sweetie but, the one who is always willing to lend a helping hand. She hates to see someone hurt or hungry. It doesn't matter if Nat likes you or not, if she sees that there's something wrong, you can count on her to be there. Especially if you are a real, and true friend. To her family and anyone close, Natalia can be extremely loyal and it would be hard to change that. But don't get it twisted, there is no way that she's a pushover. She knows how to stick up for herself, every now and then someone tries to push her buttons. One of the bad things about Nat, is when you get her started it's hard to turn her off. That is something common with all of the women on her Mom's side of the family.
When it comes to creative abilities, Nat is actually really good. This girl Sings, Dances and plays some guitar. But out of those three she loves to sing. It's sort of like a favorite childhood past time of hers. Yeah, she has problems when it comes to performing in front of a lot of people but, around smaller groups or just family, she has a lot of confidence. Natalia's goal in life is to reach her dreams one day, and she will do whatever she needs to to get there. The major issue though is, her parents don't really support her wanting to be in the music business for her life. It's not that they don't have faith in her but more so that you can never be too sure, and what if it doesn't work out? They just don't want to see her with nothing to back her up.
For her family, Natalia would give just about anything. Family is the most important thing in your life and no one could ever replace that. Sure, they get on her nerves more than half of the time but she gets on theirs too. And no matter what happens they always have each others backs. The family life isn't perfect, there are their little fights here and there but not that bad. When it feels like the world is against her, All Nat has to do is call for one of them and they're right there. To her it's great to have that sort of bond, a bond so strong that she would never want to give it up. If someone was to ever try and harm one of her family members then you could bet that she would be the one being held back, so at to not pummel the idiot into the ground. Normally she's the one who could ignore someone's stupidity if just directed at her, but attacking them is just pushing it too far.

Esperanza had it set in her mind that there were some people that she didn't need in her life and that she would never want to be friends with. Abby and Madeline were the kinds of people she didn't want to be in her life for what was left in it. Who cared if she wasn't friends with them? By her own standards it wasn't the money that made a person someone you wanted to be friends with but what was in their heart and how they thought, same as skin color or where they were from that didn't matter to her. It didn't stop them from being a good person. “Honestly, senorita whoever you are or think you are. No one cares about you. Your family but that’s only because they have to. Everyone knows that you had cancer, so what. Your still alive, it’s a shame really.” She hadn't even gone to that school when she had cancer and besides that was a little under three years ago. However she didn't know how almost anyone at GMH knew, when she left for the remainder of that year she made sure few people knew the real reason she was gone. Then again if you were to tell the wrong sort of people then that news would spread fast.
“Maybe you should off yourself. You know true greatness is only seen in death, maybe then we can see if you were really great or not.” How about that not even be an option? What Abby considered to be greatness was very different from what Esperanza considered it to be. To be truly great is through your achievements and how people look at you. For example if Abby or Madeline were to suddenly die or something Ranza would maybe be a little sad for a little bit at first because a life gone is really a sad thing, and she would never wish death on anyone, but other than that there are to good members to look back on. “ I think I should spend more time in New York. At least there people are real. More like us.” Ranza rolled her eyes and pulled up of the armwarmers she was wearing up when she felt it sliding down her arm, she could care less where she went.
Just as she was turning to tell Mai something important she got the punch. At first she hadn't been so sure of what had just happened. It only stung, not actually hurt...that was really something she had gotten used to, it happened a lot with her cousins, they would literally be fighting and somehow she always ended up in the middle of it. It's what Abby said that really pissed Esperanza off. “Go back to your home country, and quit living off of our dollar. We work hard for it so you should too instead of your family living in a one room shack and taking whats ours! Welfare child.” That was the racist comment she was tired of hearing lately. "Go back to your own country." That was getting really old but still that hurt. She had made America her home for eight or nine years and had no intention of leaving anytime soon, maybe she would leave the state but the country, no.
“That felt fucking good. Lets go shopping, shall we?” This was something that pushed the right buttons. As Abby started to walk away despite the fact that Mai was trying to hold her back and begging her not to do anything stupid Ranza was trying her hardest to get away from her friend. “That was way too easy, Yes let’s go shopping I can’t stand being in the same store with this lower class trash any longer.” Ranza got free but that that same minute Mai got hold of her again and held on tighter. "Let me go Mai, Let go." She said as the struggling wasn't as desperate anymore. "Let go of me, she can say whatever or hit me all she wants but I'm not letting her get away with saying anything about my family." But still her friend was showing no signs of letting go, it wasn't like Ranza would give up that easily. If she didn't get her at that moment there were many more opportunities.
