Let me be your hero

Every so often an anomaly occurs, and the same is true with human beings. Every once and awhile a person will be born, this person has something that is different then most people that surround them. This person has powers beyond your wildest dreams. This person has the ability to decide the fate of our world. One of these people was a man by the name of David Beautiful.

Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back?
Would you cry if you saw me cryin'?
And would you save my soul tonight?

Three hundred years ago a baby boy was born to a perfectly average family. The family resided in London, England and they were one of the peasent class. On the outside the baby appeared to be perfectly normal. However on the inside, this tiny baby they had named David Beautiful, a storm was brewing. David was not the first of his kind, nor would he be the last.

Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this
Now would you die for the one you loved?
Hold me in your arms tonight

As he grew, David found that he could manipulate and create the weather. Often times he found that the weather clearly reflected his own mood. At first all of this freaked him out, but time moved along and his ego grew. For quite some time David believed his weather related abilities made him better, higher, then all those mere mortals that surrounded him. Then one day he fell in love. He loved this woman desperately, but another, a being just like him loved her too. The other being was corruptly evil though, and so this pushed the woman away from the other being. David had to choose then. Did he want to be the mighty David Beautiful? Or did he simply wish to be David Beautiful, who loved this woman and happened to be extraordinarily gifted? After taking the time to think this through, David chose the latter option. He found that this brought him closer to the woman he loved.

They married, grew older and had children of their own. David and his wife found that their children were as gifted as David was, and that as they travelled the world they found many more gifted people like David and the children. They found that the powers that were occasionally being gifted were found world wide and they realized that it must have been a mutation of the genes. So they returned to London. It was apparent to David that he should set up a school, one to help those like him cope with coming into their powers and to learn how to control them. The ultimate purpose of the school was to guide the students into an appropriate path. It took them many years but eventually the school was set up. The building was located in a remote mountain range to which, few ventured. It was a large palace type building with dormitories for the students and staff to reside in. He only lived to see one school year. During the summer after that year he passed away. His dying wish was that his beloved wife and children continue on with the school. The granted his wish because as much as he loved them, they loved him.

Years have gone by. Beautiful Academy still exists, so do David's descendents. The students that attend the school call themselves the Beautiful People. They all have a gift, or in a way a mutation. Most came from perfectly normal families. But there are legacy families, such as the Beautifuls. The gifts that the students vary. They go from anything like invisibility to the ability to bend space and time. The students are entirely normal other then their abilities. They behave like normal teenagers; they have their cliques and they have their enemies. There are relationships and break ups. Beautiful Academy is, for the most part, like other high schools. There is one major difference though: the abilities.

In every batch of mostly good people, there are bad people. It is the same at Beautiful Academy. The main aim of the teachers there is to send its students into the outside world with a positive outlook, and so they would not be like that other being that David encountered years ago. Of course there is only so much they can do. Generally only a few students go bad each year. But for some reason there is a change in the wind. Trouble is brewing and the gifted students and teachers can feel it in the air.

What happens when the ratio of bad to good is dead even?
What happens if the world begins to clue in on the prescence of these gifted people?
How will the public react?
And what will happen within the school?
How will the students react if a battle occurs?
You decide.
