The water was high, hitting against the ship as it collided with a large rock. Many passengers screamed, hanging onto the rails so they would not fall off. The ship began to sank, the large ship containing over 915 people, more then 500 families. No one had expected the ship to sink when they came aboard a month ago on the long cruise around Europe. People came from everywhere, as it stopped at every other port. And now the ship was going down, and people were running around, grabbing their children and supplies, hoping to make it to the few safety boats they were unloading.
"Help!" A man screamed as he slipped on the deck, hitting his head hard against the side of the boat. People were running, screaming, pleading to be saved. There was commotion and sacrifice for loved ones. A young girl ran across the deck to her mother and they got into a safety boat. Many people got on in time, but some did not. Some were stranded on the sinking boat, hoping to be able to swim to a near by island, hoping to be saved.
