paragraph Ruane's looks are very true to her name, which quite simply means "soul". Perfectly proportioned, Ruane has even been described as "carved by the Gods", by a highly respected photographer, which she still brags about to this day. A sweet, heart shaped face highlighted by large, cool grey eyes fringed by thick dark lashes and full, sumptious lips. Light blonde locks tumble around her face. Ruane is most definitely an effortless beauty, she can look for all the world as if she has just rolled out of bed and can still stop a man in his tracks. A wide, laughing smile often breaks her face, making her eyes glint and dimples appear in her cheeks.

[/b][/i][/center]history When little Ruane Crew Lloyd was born, her family was already in full swing. Even from birth, the small, pixie like child was gazed at in awe, and she would gaze back, her large cool eyes resting dreamily under her thick, dark lashes. She was surrounded by love from the word go, as soon as the doctor announced, "it's a girl!" and placed her in her mother's arms, Annabelle Crew was hooked. She loved her son, of course, but a little girl was what she had always longed for, and this little girl was indeed beautiful. Speaking of the little boy who was born two years before Ruane, Danton, her older brother, adored her. Many expected him to loathe her, or for them to have an ordinary sibling relationship, but he loved her and she looked up to him. As soon as she learnt to walk the pair would go everywhere together, down to the pond at the bottom of their garden, under the weeping willow, and to the park to feed the ducks. Danton and Ruane were like two little peas in a pod. So much so, that Ruane began to see him, almost as her property. He was hers, he had been since the moment she was born and she would never let him go. He was wrapped around her bony little finger.
She was never alone, when Danton wasn't there, her mother was. It never crossed her mind that maybe her mother was always there for Ruane, but never for her brother. She was paraded around her mother's rich friends like a show dog at Crufts and Ruane was always the dutiful little puppy. When they pinched her cheeks, she never once complained, or threw a tantrum when the painful hair styles her mother forced on her fine blonde head stung her scalp. She lived in her head, it seemed, she was always talking as though to an imaginary friend, but it wasn't just one, it was a whole room full of them, she would amuse herself for hours when Danton was away and when she started attending the expensive private day school her brother went to, her beautiful face and dreamy state attracted many friends for the young girl. She was the perfect child, almost too perfect.
When something seems too good to be true, it almost always is, and this time it was no different. She had been attending school for only two years when her parents were called in to speak with the resident child psychologist there, Mrs. King. The news the small, portly woman gave the exotic pairing was not good news. Ruane was suspected to be mildly autistic, which would explain her trouble with understanding right and wrong, and the dreamy look which resided, endearingly, upon her striking features permenantly. She was unable to understand when she had done something bad, and so she was classed as amoral rather than immoral. It tore her mother apart. Her father dealt with it better. He was not close to Ruane, or to Danton, although, if pushed he would say he was much more of a father son man. Annabelle was lost, she couldn't see her daughter in the same way she always had. To Annabelle, Ruane was broken, imperfect, damaged, and, from the age of six, that was how she was treated. Her issues were only mild, and so she could not comprehend her mother's sudden coldness towards her. She spent the next five years of her life trying hard to make herself in the image of her American mother. If Annabelle wore a blue dress, Ruane would wear a blue dress.
However, when Ruane Lloyd began secondary school, she began to understand her problem better and to control it. She noticed that men, of all ages, were in awe of her, and she used it to her advantage. Simpering and batting her eyelashes, wearing sweet, innocent clothes and speaking softly. Her brother was the only one who noticed it, and this was when his over protectiveness started. And she loved it. She craved the feeling of being loved her brother gave her when he protected her, dragged her from an admirer. It killed her to watch her brother's affections turned to someone else. When he got his first girlfriend, Eve, jealousy ripped through Ruane. The sabotage of their relationship took up a great deal of her time, although she eventually succeeded. She expected her older brother would just get over it, and it pained her to see him change, permenantly because of the hurt the split caused him. Many people have accused Ruane to care for her brother in a way more than she should, but this is most definitely not the case. Since her mother's rejection of her, Ruane has craved the security her brother's love has given her.
It was also around this time the screaming started. Her mother had snapped, always a strong willed, independant woman, her "failure" of a daughter. She began to meet the men her parents approved on and eventually began to have an affair with an Italian heir. Their father was distraught, but Ruane was possibly more so. She was nearly fifteen, at a crucial age when her mother, despite the rejection she had felt from her, was of the upmost importance. A year later, their father left to Japan for a weekend and never returned. When she found out, her mother sent two tickets and Ruane and Danton flew out to Miami to live with their maternal grandparents.
With all of these occurances, Ruane grew cold and conniving, she still needs her brother's love and would do anything to stop him caring for anyone but her, yet he is and always will be, blind to it.
personality Because of Ruane's disorder, she often appears to be in some kind of daze, and when she looks at you, it is almost as if she is staring straight through you and into your soul. She is often quiet, and lets her loud, pretentious friends take the spotlight, of sorts, although, she is never without men staring at her, and she is all to aware of it, even if she won't let on. When a silence falls over her, she is always deep in thought, and will often, at these times, talk as though she is in a trance, although is it most certainly deliberate. She twists men around her little finger, and she enjoys it, too.
She can be extremely cunning, if she feels the situation calls for it. Her plans of sabotage are usually extensive and just plain cruel, although her large, pale eyes always get her out of any trouble she causes herself. She can be as nice as pie when she wants to be, or, more importantly, when she wants something from you. However, if you are lucky enough to earn Ruane's true affections, and there are few who have, you would not find a more willing, loyal friend if you searched the globe, of course, the reason for that is her desperate need for security. Despite her brother's over protectiveness, Ruane has been sexually active since the age of thirteen, her deep, mind controlling lust for attention will drive her to any lengths, and it is the attention of those that are aloof which she craves the most. Although she is not aware of any problems, other than her slight autism, Ruane is infact, a sex addict, and is often accused of using people. Having never been in love, she only has eyes for Danton. Her brother is possibly the only person other than herself she truly cares for. She would lay down her life for him. He has been there since the moment she was born, and she knows no matter what he is there for her to depend on.
Deep down, she is still very much a young girl, desperate for approval. It is in her nature for Ruane to, stir the soup, as such, for normality is not something she easily comprehends, having never been formally introduced to it. Ruane truly believes there is nothing more powerful on this earth than words. Be they written or spoken, they have the influence to change the world. As a compulsive liar, Ruane has a wonderful gift of story telling, it is the only emotional outlet she allows herself. Where her brother openly indulges in his passion of music, Ruane hides her gift like a dirty little secret and holds it as close to her heart as her journal, which she hides beneath a broken floor board in her room in the house she and her brother share, just ten minutes from both her highschool and the university he attends.
