Welcome to Camp! Mike sighed as he looked up at the big welcome sign. He was here for taking pictures throughout the week of the Music Camp. Really he loved music but he couldn't play music at all whatsoever. He didn't know if he could sing or not seeing as he refused to sing around people. No he was way to shy for that. He had his camera bag on one shoulder and a duffle bag of clothes on the other one. His iPod was playing in his ears. He was listening to Plush by Stone Temple Pilots. Just relaxing and listening while he stood there and stared at that sign. Well, seeing as this was the point of being here he might as well start his work.
Mike tossed his duffle bag to the side before taking a knee on the ground as he opened his camera bag. Taking out the camera he adjusted the lens and put in a memory card. Making sure everything was in order. His camera was his baby. Didn't go anywhere without it. Wether he was on a job or not. There was so many things you could capture in one picture and he did not want to miss a thing. As weird as it sounded. The world was way too beautiful to pass up the chance of capturing that in one simple picture.
Closing his bag he placed the camera around his neck ready to take the first picture there. He placed the black Kodak camera against his face and closed one eye as he looked into the lens. He turned the lens a few times getting it perfect before snapping the picture of the Welcome sign. Taking the camera away from his face he looked at the picture making sure it was okay and he smiled before looking around for something else to get.
Mike took pictures of some of the students talking to each other holding there bags. Obviously a group of friends and some other people. There was one girl standing by herself. Just seemed to be zoning out or something. Staring at something. He placed the camera against his face again and closed his left eye as he adjusted the lens. He pressed the button just as someone was walking across. "Dammit!" He spoke under his breath before he hurried back trying to capture the person again.
But once he looked through the lens she wasn't there anymore. He blinked and looked around trying to figure out where she went. He sighed looking down at his camera deleting the picture of the person who walked in front of him. He hated when people did that. They had no courtesy at all. It was obvious what he was doing so why would you do something like that was beyond him. It peeved him immensely. He sighed and got up letting the camera hang from his neck as he looked up he saw the girl again. But she was doing something else. He cocked his head to the side slightly before walking over to her.
"Uhm.... Hello...." He spoke shyly to the girl before chewing on the inside of his lip nervously. He was always shy at first. Always. He hated it but hey there was really nothing he could do could he. "I was uhm.... Just wondering if.... I could take a picture of you.... Uhm.... Actually nevermind.... It would be too set up....." He spoke more to himself then anything. But once he realized he was talking out loud he blinked. "I'm sorry.. Uhm... My name is Michael... I am the photographer here." He spoke extending a hand to shake. He just hoped she didn't find him weird or anything for being so shy.

ms. kimberly josie stevensonOutfit!
It was that time of year again, the annual music camp was being held. Every year of high school ever since she stared playing guitar and singing, she had attended the camp hoping to improve her musical skills. It had helped her a lot since every teacher there had experience with whatever intstrument you could imagine from the piccolo to the harp. Yet this year was different instead of going there to be taught she would be teaching. It was a requirement for her to do a certain amount of out of campus activities for her music class to get full credit. She actually didn’t mind seeing that most of the kids were only a year younger than her since this was her first year in college. She noticed a few other of her class going on this trip which was understandable since it was an easy and fun way to get that credit. Still, being looked up to by all the members of the camp was an honor and she knew that if she messed something up it would be the talk of the town for atleast a week, at the bare minimum. That was how a big city like Miami worked just like New York. Word spread like a wildfire and cyberspace was even faster.
So here she was sitting on a crowded bus with not just people but their instruments too. Well it was a nicer bus than the campers were getting since they were in fact the teachers which meant a little luxury. She glanced over at her guitar case that held her acoustic guitar. She hadn’t thought to bring her electric guitar since she wasn’t sure if there would even be a plug in. She grew very protective of her guitars and wouldn’t even let her family touch them. There was an exception for her brother since she knew he wouldn’t break them since he knew how to handle them. Plus she really trusted her brother and was a little down that he couldn’t make it to this camp. They would’ve had a blast since they were always the best of friends. Most siblings didn’t really get along with each other but Jo could tell her brother everything. Well, maybe he would make it to the next one.
She turned her head around when she heard someone start tapping their drumsticks on the seat then others started to hum or clink their instrument. She grinned, ah music camps. She quickly pulled out her guitar cradling it like it was her baby, which wasn’t far off. She strummed a few notes then began the tune of Play My Music by the Jonas Brothers. She didn’t think that the Jonas Brothers were worth fainting over but she did like the tune of their music not to mention their style. A few people stared at her and then caught on. Soon everyone was in on it like it was a real musical when everyone knows the words and has cues. A guy started off singing his voice smooth and beautiful. She grinned keeping up with the tempo. She heard the drummer guy switch the beat to go with her. When they got to the chorus the whole bus was singing aloud now to the lyrics. She joined in not ashamed of her voice. Then there came the next verse and everyone quieted leaving her to do the solo. She took a deep breath and sung out “Got my six string on my back, don't need anything but that.everything I want is here with me.So forget that fancy car, I don't need to go that far. What's driving me is following my dreams, yeah!” She heard a few cheers but the song kept going and when they finished they were at the camp. Right on cue, she laughed at the irony of it as she put her guitar away. She filed out of the bus and as everyone hurried off with their friends to find their cabin she stood there looking around. Flashback after flashback washed over her and she was stunned into silence. She didn’t know how much she missed this camp and her eyes sparkled. This wouldn’t be so bad after all.
She heard a guy next to her swear under his breath and she turned seeing a shaggy haired boy fiddling with a camera. An expensive one by the looks of it. She rose an eyebrow in curiousity and watched as he walked over shyly. She was never one to really get shy so she didn’t fumble over her words. “Hey” she greeted him with a sincere smile. She was so happy right now, she just felt like hugging someone but she knew that that wouldn’t get them off on a good start in first impressions. She listened him ramble on, mumbling. Her brow knitted together, confused. When he introduced himself she snapped back into the conversation “ I’m Kimberly, call me Jo though. You shouldn’t be sorry, there is no reason. “ she glanced at his camera” I suspected that. How long have you been doing that for?” she asked.
